Access Solutions Scaffolding: Bridging Challenges with Expertise

At Access Solutions Scaffolding, we thrive in overcoming unique challenges to deliver exceptional access solutions. When contracted to design and scaffold the north and south piers of an 800m steel and concrete bridge over the River Tay, carrying the M90 motorway to the North of Scotland, we knew we were in for an exciting project.

Each scaffold, reaching heights between 20m and 25m, was meticulously constructed using Cuplok, ensuring stability and safety for our team. With stair access in place, our experts were able to carry out crucial concrete repairs efficiently.

The North Pier presented a particularly complex challenge with its proximity to a live railway line and a 3-ton weight-restricted bridge. Leveraging our full RISQS accreditation and extensive experience working on railways, we devised a meticulous plan.

To navigate the weight restrictions and ensure seamless operations, we delivered all materials in ¼ ton stillages and utilised a counterweight forklift for transportation to and from the site compound. Our team's dedication and strategic approach allowed us to complete the project within an 8-week period.

Today, the site is once again under the control of Bear Scotland, thanks to our team's diligence and expertise.

Access Solutions Scaffolding continues to demonstrate our commitment to overcoming challenges and delivering top-notch access solutions for projects of all sizes.

Gary Dunlop, Contracts Manager

CRL appointed A/S/S to design and erect 2no scaffold access towers to Piers 6 & 7 of Friarton Bridge Perth.

A/S/S delivered a full design within 2-3 weeks of being appointed and were able to erect each tower within their allocated programme slot. Due to variable on-site conditions, some adjustments had to be made during each build, but these changes were quickly addressed, and new drawings were issued detailing the alterations.

All aspects of A/S/S contribution to the project were carried out in a safe, professional manner and CRL will certainly be engaging with them for future projects.
